Best for Small Budget
1. Ingenuity Comfort 2 Go Portable Swing
We thought the price of this baby swing was a mistake at first but, no, it’s just great value! It’s a no-frills option so don’t expect bells and whistles, but for something so affordable, it’s seriously stylish.
It comes with a toy bar with two cute hanging elephants, and it’s so chic and cheery that you won’t mind gazing at it once your baby has gone to bed. If you need a fold-able mini swing with easy to transport option, look no further.
This is a simple baby swing with a lovely pattern and on-trend colors. The toy bar isn’t the easiest to attach and I found this strap the most difficult to fasten.
There are no music or motion features, but it’s light enough to move between rooms and doesn’t take up too much space. Evelyn loves the toy elephants. It’s great value for money.
A very stylish-looking baby swing. I like that it’s easy to clean. My son definitely enjoyed sitting in this, but it doesn’t seem as supportive as some of the others we tested.
It’s fine for now, but as he gets older and heavier I think he’ll need a chair with a bit more support than this offers. It’s also a little on the bulky side.
A lovely simplistic design, best suited for 0-9KG weight babies. The elephants kept Oscar enthralled for a good 15 minutes. If you can’t be bothered with assembly, this is perfect as it comes pre-made.
It’s very light and easy to move around the house. It’s less robust than the pricier models, which you’d expect, and the toy bar popped off numerous times, but it’s a brilliant budget buy.
Best Baby Swings For Small Spaces
2. Graco DuetSoothe Baby Swing and Rocker
There’s so much packed into this chair – the bouncing feature is activated by your baby’s kicks, and it comes with a detachable toy bar and two rattle toys. It has a vibrating mode and it plays four soothing melodies.
Our favorite feature is the head-hugging pillow – never has a grey cloud looked so cute! It folds compactly for easy storage. The cover is easy to remove, but it’s wipe clean only.
You’ll need a screwdriver to put this baby swing together, and to stock up on batteries, as they’re not included.
Evelyn enjoyed the different vibration settings and it kept her amused long enough for me to shower and do my hair and make-up in the morning.
The downside is it doesn’t fold down, so I found it difficult to carry up and down the stairs.
This is a very soft and comfortable baby swing, but I’m not sure I’d want to spend so much money on an item that’ll only accommodate my child up until six months.
It’s very easy to build and the soothing music and vibrations are great – Beau loves them. However, some of the other seats we tested seemed a little more robust than this one.
Wow, the fabric is so soft and it feels lovely! The seat comes with a toy bar, which Oscar enjoyed playing with, and it plays songs, too, which kept him entertained.
It gives a good swing to your baby. I didn’t use the head pillow as it moves around when Oscar moves his head. And it could do with a Velcro tab or something to keep it in place.
With it multi-directional swing option to sway side-to-side or swing back-and-forth in three seating positions! It has Removable Swing Seat Doubles, which works as a Rocker too.
Best Baby Swing for Colic
3. Graco Simple Sway Baby Swing | 2 Speed Vibration, Abbington
This two-in-one rocker and baby swing is stylish and contemporary, and made from soft, luxurious materials. It has three different seat positions and it’s easy to adjust, even with one hand.
We love the cosy, supportive insert for newborns. The fabric is easy to clean and the seat is light enough to move between rooms.
The seat folds compactly, so it’s easy to store or pop in the car boot.
A nice looking baby swing. It’s lightweight and fold-able, so it’s easy to store and move around. Evelyn looked really comfortable in the newborn inlay.
The cover is easy to remove and it’s machine washable. It has three height options, but no toy bar or music features, and you need to rock it by hand.
This is a lovely baby seat. I love that it’s so stylish looking – so modern and contemporary. I’m very happy to have it around the house without feeling like I want to pack it out of sight once my baby is in bed.
The fabric feels especially comfortable. It was very easy to assemble and it’s slimline for easy transport or storage.
Another seat that’s ideal if you’re not a fan of assembling furniture! It’s very pleasing to the eye and I love the colors.
It looks very stylish and I’m glad that it’s not all grey. It’s also a very comfy chair and Oscar enjoyed sitting in it, however, it lacks a little something to keep a baby entertained, and doesn’t rock or swing very much.
Its a rechargeable baby swing, but it plug in option allows you to save the batteries while using your infant swing. Graco baby swings small frame design fits in any room of Your Home so you can easily keep baby close wherever you are.
Best For Babies Who Love Motion
4. Graco Duoglider Baby Swing
This two-in-one multi-functional baby seat is designed to sway from side to side and glide back and forth, or you can set it to do a combination of both.
The seat turns 90° and it has a portable lift-off rocker that’s light enough to carry between rooms. It plays five lullabies and five nature sounds, and has a soothing vibration setting. We love the cosy machine-washable insert.
If you have a baby who loves an adrenaline fix, this is the baby swing for them. I was impressed by the range of rocking motions but, sadly, Evelyn was not.
She struggled to settle in this baby swing. It’s tricky to assemble and has a short power lead, so it’s hard to find the best position in the room with enough space to plug it in.
A great combination of a swing and bouncer – ideal if you’re short on space. The fabric is easy to clean so it’s perfect if, like me, you have a baby with reflux.
It’s also easy to assemble. However, it’s another chair that’s best suited to young babies – it’ll be outgrown by six months, and it’s expensive for such a short period of use.
You can use this as a rocker or as a motorized baby swing, which is basically a life-saver if you’re busy chasing after an energetic three-year old!
Unfortunately, the straps are tough – by the time I’d got Oscar in, he would be ready to come out, and the fact that you have to plug it in puts me off – the plug isn’t exactly where we want the chair.

Evelyn looked super comfortable, and I like the natural rocking motion. I found it most useful in the kitchen as it meant I was able to unload the dishwasher on multiple occasions. Attachable toys are available to buy separately.
I was really impressed with this baby swing! Our son suffers from reflux so the fact that this seat has three different height settings is brilliant.

A gentle push keeps it swaying for two minutes – just long enough for you to make a cuppa!
This seemed huge, so I didn’t think I’d like it. Wrong! It’s really stylish and moves without needing batteries.
My four-year-old loves that she can sit in it, too. It’s not easy to move around the house, but it kept Evelyn entertained for longer than any other baby swing. A real winner – the ‘must-have’ I never knew I needed!
This is absolutely amazing! My son loves this chair so much that I think he’d quite happily sit in it for hours on end if I let him.
He is especially comfortable in this one – it seems well designed to suit a baby with reflux. As the saying goes, a happy baby means a happy mum! My only complaint is that it does stain easily.
Wow, this baby swing is amazing. Gorgeous fabric and a brilliant design that can hold an incredible 60kg. A real investment piece, which your child will use for years to come.
It’s heavy but very sturdy, and it can be locked in place or set to sway. Oscar enjoyed this and fell asleep in it many times. The only downside is I wore my arm out keeping it moving!
Best Baby Swings Features
Toy Arch
Babies love batting at the toys on the arch. Make sure they’re at the right height for her to see them, and interesting enough to hold her attention.
Musical Features
Your baby might love listening to soothing sounds and musical melodies, but check whether you can switch them off or adjust the volume – for your sake.
Frame
Check how robust the frame is, especially if you have toddlers in the house. A sturdy baby swing made from durable materials won’t tip over easily.
Vibration
Some babies are soothed by a gently vibrating seat. Check that the vibrations can be switched off, and whether the seat needs to be plugged in.
Newborn Insert
This ensures even the tiniest baby is snug and secure. Check it’s well-padded, with plenty of cosy support, especially around baby’s head.
Safety Harness
This keeps your baby safely secured in the baby swing. Check the straps are easy to adjust and the buckle can be released without breaking a nail.
Fabric
If your baby brings up milk or has a leaky nappy, you’ll want to clean the chair fast – without waiting ages for it to dry. Check the cover is easy to remove and re-attach – bonus if you can pop it in the washing machine!

Best Baby Swings Buying Guide
Do you need one?
Yes, if you’d like somewhere safe to pop your baby when you’re replying to a text or trying to eat dinner before it goes cold! The great thing about a baby swing – unlike the floor or a baby gym – is that your baby is safely strapped in via the harness, so she’s not going to roll across the room when your back is turned.
How portable do you need it to be?
If you’d like to be able to move it with you from room to room, choose a lightweight baby swing that’s easy to carry. You could use it in the bathroom while you’re getting ready for the day, then carry it downstairs and pop your baby in it while you make breakfast. If you don’t need this flexibility and are more likely to use it in one room most of the time, a basic bouncer is all you need.
What’s the difference between a bouncer, a rocker and a baby swing?
A bouncer chair is a soft seat with a flexible frame that allows your baby to bounce gently up and down when she moves her limbs. A rocker is a baby seat with a curved base, designed to rock back and forth rather than bounce. A swing is a motorized baby chair with different speed settings. Some baby seats are a combination of all three.
Do you need sound features?
Most portable baby swings have toy bars attached and some also have musical features to help keep your baby entertained. These are handy if you have an older child who also needs your attention – switching on the musical features can sometimes buy you a few extra minutes if you can’t pick your baby up the second she tires of being in the baby swing.
Are you likely to travel with it?
If you’re visiting friends or relatives, you might want to pop the baby swing in the car and take it with you, so choose one that folds flat and won’t take up too much space in your car boot.
Where will you store it?
Think about where you’ll keep the baby swing for small spaces when it’s not in use. If you’ve got plenty of room to keep it up without endlessly tripping over it, choose one you won’t get tired of looking at. If you prefer to clear away the baby stuff at the end of each day, pick one that can fold compactly for easy storage.
What about naps and meals?
The motion of a baby swing can encourage a little one to drift off, but a baby should never be left to sleep in a baby swing, as her airway can easily become restricted. Mealtimes are safest in a high chair, so keep the baby swing as a place for your baby to rest and play with your supervision – it’s the perfect spot to kick off some energy and wind down before going to sleep.
